It’s no secret that Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham have been together for nearly four decades and things between the two are still going strong! That being said, fans have been wondering for years what their secret is, especially since their romance is rather unconventional!
But obviously, Oprah is not someone worried about social expectations for women or couples in general, which is also why she never accepted Stedman’s marriage proposals – yes, plural!
Regardless, she still manages to live her best life alongside her longtime lover, things between them being better than ever!
The two have actually opened up about their unique romance many times throughout the decades they have been together.
She’s described him as handsome in the beginning, as well as very kind and supportive, which is just what Oprah needed.
In fact, in a more recent interview, the famous personality admitted that, before meeting Graham, she had been hoping to find someone just like him!
‘I did manifest him because I’d been through a lot of ‘woof woofs.’ You get to a point where you say ‘no more.’ I actually said that this is what I want. Someone who’s kind. Someone who’s loyal. And that is what I have,’ she dished.
She also told ET that Graham has always been supportive of her in all ventures, including when everyone was begging Oprah to run for president!
While she’s made it clear that she is not interested in the highest office in the country, she did appreciate her lover’s continuous encouragement.
‘He’s a really special man in that he is not the least intimidated by me or what I do. He says all the time, ‘Look, I want you to be president… do you want to be president? Run for president, I will work on the campaign.’ So, I am very grateful to have someone like that, who does not want to be in the limelight with me, isn’t trying- when you walk into the room, is not looking for all the cameras. And, so, I do not know what will happen,’ Oprah gushed over Graham.

In other words, it seems like the main thing that still bonds them today is the fact that neither tries to control and change the other to fit their ideal. Instead, they support and lift each other up, living life together as a true team.
