Sam Smith and Timbaland are working together on new music.
Sam, who is currently working on his second album, has been photographed in a recording studio with hip-hop producer.
Posting a picture on his Instagram, of Smith and British songwriter Jimmy Napes, Timbaland wrote “We’re just getting started @samsmithworld @timbaland @jimmynapes”
Jimmy Napes has a long history with Smith having worked on Sam’s debut album ‘In The Lonely Hour’.
The pair co-wrote some of the albums biggest hits including ‘Stay With Me’, ‘Lay Me Down’ and ‘I’m Not The Only One’.
He has also worked with artists such as Mary J. Blige, Clean Bandit, Jessie Ware and Disclosure.
24 hours after his first post, Timbaland took to Instagram again to post a photo of himself standing alongside Sam.
The hip-hop producer wrote “It was a pleasure working with this man @samsmithworld #puretalent #goodvibes #makingmemories and #timeless #music”
Timbaland has worked with some of the biggest names in music.
Famous for writing and producing hits for the likes of Aaliyah, Missy Elliott, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Rihanna, Beyonce, Jay Z and Kanye West, he has also released two studio albums made up of his own material.
Shock Value and Shock Value II featured collaborations with Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, and Nicole Scherzinger.
Timbaland’s remix of One Republic’s ‘Apologize’ became a massive hit back in 2007, giving One Republic their first ever US Number 1.
Although not confirmed, it is thought Timbaland and Smith are working on music for Sam’s upcoming second studio album.
Speaking previously about what fans can expect from the record, Smith said “I’m putting my heart even more out on the f***ing line.”
“I’m going even deeper. I can’t believe I’m even doing it, but I’m going even deeper.”
